Miami, FL, October 5, 2023 – Christina Himmel is now of counsel at Caldera Law, bolstering the firm's team and capabilities in high-stakes litigation for the manufacturing, health care, insurance, entertainment, hospitality, and real estate industries.
“We're thrilled to have Christina join the Caldera team,” said Managing Partner Ben Wolkov. “Her litigation expertise and dedication to getting the best outcomes for clients will be a valuable asset as the firm continues to grow.”
Himmel has a strong track record of handling matters in arbitration, state and federal court, and administrative agencies for clients across a diverse range of industries. She is particularly skilled in arbitration issues, shareholder disputes, minority shareholder squeeze-outs, and appraisal proceedings. Recently, she was part of a team that successfully represented a minority shareholder in an appraisal proceeding and reversed a lower court’s order granting a motion to compel arbitration.
In addition to her success in the courtroom, Himmel regularly writes about legal issues and has authored articles picked up for publication in the Miami Herald and Daily Business Review. She mentors new lawyers in the community, co-chairs the social media and sponsorship committees for the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and runs the social media for the South Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. A South Florida native, Himmel graduated cum laude from the University of Miami and summa cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. While in undergrad at UM, Himmel was a Miami Dolphins cheerleader and occasionally cheers at halftime during alumni games.
“Caldera Law truly is a cross-functional and collaborative law firm where everyone works together to ultimately get the best results for our clients," said Himmel. “I'm happy to be on a team that will try to help clients avoid litigation or get them the best results if litigation ensues.”
