Ben Wolkov

Ben Wolkov is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Caldera Law, a Miami-based full-service boutique law firm known for its client-first approach and multidisciplinary strength across Corporate, Real Estate, Litigation, Intellectual Property, Hospitality, Sports & Entertainment, and Technology & Innovation matters. Founded in 2021, Caldera has rapidly emerged as a go-to firm for high-stakes and cross-border work, delivering Big Law sophistication with boutique-level attention.

Ben has been a pivotal part of Miami's business and legal ecosystem since 2000, growing alongside the city as it transformed into a global hub for finance, tech, hospitality, and the arts. That quarter-century of deep local relationships—combined with a national and cross-border practice—has made him a trusted go-to resource and recognized leader in the South Florida business community.

With more than 25 years of transactional experience, Ben advises clients on business formation and strategy, corporate governance, M&A, venture capital and private equity financings, joint ventures, and cross-border transactions. He started his career as a project finance attorney at Hunton & Williams (now Hunton Andrews Kurth), then practiced at Paul Hastings in New York City and Galicia Abogados SC in Mexico City before rising to Partner in the Corporate Department of McDermott Will & Emery in Miami.

Ben co-founded Caldera Law in 2021 with a clear mission: to build Miami’s premier business law firm for founders, investors, and complex enterprises operating at the intersection of growth and global markets. Since that time, Caldera has grown from a handful of attorneys to an 18-lawyer firm representing some of the city's most dynamic clients including high-net-worth individuals and families, institutional corporate clients, growth companies, celebrity chefs, hospitality groups, athletes, and entertainers. Caldera Law has earned South Florida Business Journal Best Places to Work recognitions for three consecutive years, a testament to the culture Ben has helped build.

While anchored in Miami, the firm's practice is national and international in scope, serving clients throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe across corporate, real estate, litigation, intellectual property, hospitality, sports & entertainment, and technology matters.  Ben’s time living and working in both Brazil and Mexico has positioned him as a go-to resource for cross-border transactions between the U.S. and Latin America, particularly in those two key markets. His Big Law pedigree—combined with a decade refining alternative fee models at boutique firms—continues to shape Caldera's flexible, client-first approach to legal services.

Ben has been recognized on multiple occasions by Florida Trend as a Florida Legal Elite, a peer-selected designation held by fewer than 2% of Florida Bar members. Additional honors include the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's “40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers of Miami-Dade County” (2010), recognition in the 2020 South Florida Legal Guide, and consistent features in the peer-selected Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions.

A frequent media resource on business and legal issues, Ben is regularly sought out for commentary on corporate transactions, entrepreneurship, and the evolving legal landscape. He also serves on the boards of multiple privately held companies, bringing a deal-maker’s mindset and strategic rigor to the boardroom.

Ben also teaches the next generation of deal lawyers. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law, where he taught in the Transactional Skills Program to help students become practicing transactional attorneys. He supports Miami's creative community as a board member of Fountainhead Artists' Residency.

Raised across London and Copenhagen, Ben is fluent in Danish and conversational in Spanish and Portuguese—a global perspective that has informed his cross-border practice from the very beginning.
