
For over two decades, Lin Cherry has provided strategic business and legal counsel to clients across technology, entertainment, digital media, and sports. She has served as General Counsel for subsidiaries of major media companies—including News Corporation, América Móvil, and WarnerMedia Discovery — where she led legal, compliance, and business affairs across global operations. Lin also served as Chief Legal Officer for Wizeline, a global technology services company, and has represented professional sports teams, stadiums, and arenas.
Lin actively engages with clients on joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and complex corporate and commercial transactions. Her work, at the intersection of intellectual property and technology, encompasses production, licensing and distribution of entertainment and sports content, sponsorships, advertising, corporate branding, talent name, image and likeness (NIL), as well as technology licensing and services.
Known for her pragmatic, business-oriented approach, Lin thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments where agility and sound judgment are critical. Her deep industry experience and insights allow her to structure innovative deals, future-proof, navigate risk, and drive value for her clients.
In addition to her legal practice, Lin is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law, where she teaches AI and dealmaking.
She earned her B.S. in Finance from The George Washington University and her J.D. from the University of Florida.
